“One of my favorite MU professors is Dr. Sepi Yalda. She has been a tremendous mentor as a woman and minority in the field. She provided me with research opportunities in radar meteorology when I was an undergraduate student. She also opened my eyes to the intersection of weather and emergency management from the time I was an underclassman through graduate school. All of these experiences with Dr. Yalda have helped us build a lifelong relationship that I'll always cherish and reference throughout my career. I know I can always go to her for advice.”

How did Millersville University help you get to where you are today?
Outside of providing me with prestigious Meteorology and Emergency Management degrees, Millersville has been extremely supportive outside of the classroom too. My professors gave me tremendous networking opportunities, letters of recommendations for career-developing internships and training. They also selected me to be a Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Center for Disaster Research & Education (CDRE). All of these experiences strengthened my resume to jump start my career and allow me to get the jobs I've had thus far.
