Budget Issues 2009-10 through 2011-12

Summary of Budget Suggestions

In the past year, the Budget Suggestion box has received approximately 150 suggestions and comments. Thank you for your feedback and enthusiasm. Many suggestions are repeats of others, some are very specific to people and programs/activities, and many have a similar theme or are in the same category of suggestion.

In an attempt to answer all and any, some suggestions have been placed into categories, such as: Capital Budget and Buildings, Program Cuts, Cost Cutting Ideas, Collective Bargaining and Personnel Issues, and other specific questions.  Several questions have attempted to deal with the Governor’s Budget such as taxes, additional cuts, etc. I have omitted them from being answered for the obvious reason – Millersville University has no control over these items.

All answers are based on fact, law, current policy or practice and not on anyone’s political beliefs. Suggestions about particular individuals, programs and/or activities are avoided when and where appropriate.

Again, thank you for your support and keep the suggestions coming.

Message from the Provost Regarding Class Schedules and Enrollments in Classes for 2011-12 Academic Year

Millersville University is making every effort to ensure that students are able to make normal progress towards fulfilling their academic goals. As the University continues to address the evolving budget situation, Academic Affairs is carefully monitoring class schedules and enrollments in classes for the 2011-2012 academic year.  The provost, deans and department chairs are working closely with faculty and staff to ensure that students are able to enroll in classes they need to make necessary progress towards degree completion.           (More from the Provost PDF)
