MU Closed Wednesday

With the forecast of “a wintry mix changing to snow,” Millersville University has decided to close the campus for Wednesday, November 26.  It is important to note that ALL classes will be held, as scheduled, the remainder of today and tonight.  Only essential personnel are to report on Wednesday.

Scholarships and Awards

Below are scholarships and awards that Speech Communication majors may be eligible to receive.

Elva W. Biemsderfer Scholarship
Awarded to a student in the communication and theatre curriculum with a concentration in Theatre.

Edward J. Laucks Memorial Sertoma Award
Awarded to a student who has achieved excellence in the communication major.

Charles E. and Betty F. Muench Scholarship
Awarded to an entering senior majoring in communication and theatre arts who has demonstrated financial need, has a minimum overall academic average of 3.0, and exemplifies commitment to and excellence in the discipline of communications.

John David Neider Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a junior who has made a significant contribution to the success of musical or dramatic performing arts at Millersville and has a GPA of at least 2.0.

Mary Slokum-Sproul Prizes
Awarded to a student for excellence in public speaking.

James Hale Steinman Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate in good academic standing who has completed 15-100 credits, for outstanding contributions to campus communications and indicate intention to continue to serve in a capacity that will advance campus communications.

John Frederick Steinman Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate in good academic standing who has completed 15-100 credits, for outstanding contributions to campus communications and indicate intention to continue to serve in a capacity that will advance campus communications.

Ronyshia J. Smith ’00 Communications Award
Awarded to a communication major with 30-100 credits who has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and who is involved in co-curricular activities. First preference is to an African-American student.

WLPA – Hall Communications Scholarship
Awarded to a sophomore student of color and/or a female majoring in communications with an option in broadcasting and who demonstrates a financial need.
