Clery Act Information

What is Clery?

The Clery Act is part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, a federal law that requires colleges/universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies. All public and private postsecondary institutions participating in federal student aid are subject to this law. Violators can be fined by the Department of Education for violating the law and risk loss of federal aid.

The Clery Act requires the University to collect, maintain and make available to current and prospective students and employees the following information:

  • Annual Report
  • Crime Statistics
  • Timely Warnings
