Presidential Search

Dear MU Campus Community:

The Presidential Search Committee (PSC) invites you to participate in a series of forums to be held on campus on August 28 and 29.  During these sessions, we want to hear your thoughts about the leadership qualities and professional experiences the next Millersville University president should possess in order to build upon the already outstanding reputation of this institution.  The PSC will be joined by representatives from the executive search firm Witt/Kiefer as we listen together with the goal of crafting an accurate and robust leadership profile.

Before and during these forums, please keep in mind the following four general areas of questions.

  1. What experiences and qualifications are essential for a candidate to be viewed as a fit for Millersville University?  Further, what interpersonal skills are needed?
  2. What do presidential candidates need to know about Millersville University?  What are our strengths?  How can we improve?
  3. What are the key challenges and opportunities facing our next president?
  4. What must our next president accomplish in the next three to five years to build on the university’s strong foundation and continue our forward momentum?

The schedule of forums for campus and community constituencies can be found by clicking here.  Please note that the last session on August 29 is “open” and intended to be a catch-all for anyone who may have been unable to attend an earlier one.

On behalf of the PSC, thank you for taking the time to meet with us and share your thoughts.  We remain committed to continuing this university’s reputation for academic excellence, student success, and community service.
