CALL FOR APPLICATIONS …. DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 6, 2009!

The Walker Center for Civic Responsibility and Leadership announces a call for applications for their second cohort of Junior Leadership Associates and Junior Leadership Fellows.  Students interested in opportunities to meaningfully engage in public policy, developing leadership skills, and exploring personal growth through this experience should apply.  Specific offerings include:

o       Monthly dinner meetings or roundtable discussions about current events or issues of public impact

o       Opportunity to meet distinguished visitors (guests, scholars, alumni, and administrators) to discuss leadership issues

o       Opportunity to interface with policymakers through engaging in work in our Policy Research Shop

o       Leadership Retreat in Harrisburg, PA or Washington, D.C. with Civic Skills Training

§       Networking

§       Public speaking

§       Writing press releases and policy briefs

§       Project management

§       Meet with government offices, policy think tanks, agencies, or advocacy organizations
