About the Exhibition ...
In "Absurdities of a Restless Mind", I am presenting the strange, nostalgic ideas that have slowly plagued my mind. My work incudes a wide variety of materials from cast bronze to strings of thread and older forms of media such as VHS Tapes. I found myself constantly playing with the material and what may come out of it. Experimenting with anything and everything I can do with it. Through embracing any and all resulting ideas, regardless of the reason, I find more passion and love through creating.
About the Artist ...
Elena Elia grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she was consistently supported by her teachers and family to pursue her education in the arts. With a concentration in sculpture, she experiments with different media and approaches such as creating multiples with molds, and using found and recycled objects. Her inspiration tends to stem from extreme emotion or feeling. She intends to graduate from Millersville University in the Spring of 2024 earning a BFA in Art.

Directions & Parking
DIRECTIONS - GOOGLE MAPS
To the MU Police Station for a Parking Permit ... Millersville Police Station is located in the Boyer Building on W. Frederick St. Proceed on N. George Street and turn right at the light on Franklin St. As you pass the back of the Library, turn right in the parking lot. Boyer buiding is directly in front of you. Follow the signs for the University Police Station . Please stop in to request a free daily parking pass from the attendant at the main desk. This parking pass will be valid for white lines spaces only.
To Swift Gallery ... As you proceed down George Street. On the left, you will see the Sugar Bowl which will put you on Normal Avenue. At this turn, you will see a campus street sign for "Breidenstine Hall" (Department of Art & Design). Stop at the first Stop Sign and proceed straight. You will pass Biemesderfer Stadium and Chryst Field on your left hand side. A little further on the right you will see a square brick building with teal and white placards with the words "Art & Design". This is Breidenstine Hall, your destination of 46 E. Frederick Street. Sykes Gallery will be on the ground level of this building. Please address the department secretary in room 101 for access to the entrance for handicap accessibility.To the Bus Parking Lot ... West Cottage Ave & North George St.
PARKING PERMITS
Daily campus parking permits are required before 4:00 pm and available at the campus Police Station in the Boyer Building on W. Frederick St. (behind the Library). These permits will only be valid for white, not yellow lined spaces. The station is open from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. (717) 871-4357.
