Student Stories - The Value of Business at MU

We are currently collecting information on these amazing graduates to determine one of our most pressing questions: Where are they getting jobs thanks to their new Millersville degree? In the meantime, here are a few great placements from the Class of 2022:

“My biggest accomplishment at Millersville was getting connected with RKL, LLP, the accounting firm I interned at for 3 semesters and my future employer next fall. My favorite memories are meeting some of my best friends and interacting with the incredible staff at the Lombardo College of Business. Future plans include pursuing an MBA program and sitting for the CPA exam.”

- Jack Rafuse | Business Administration-Accounting Major, '22

“After graduating cum laude with honors in two degrees (bachelor’s in Business Administration-Finance and a bachelor’s in Economics-Financial Economics) I look forward to starting my job as a Financial Advisor with Tri-State Financial Advisors in Philadelphia. I am so proud to be a first-generation graduate and enjoyed my time being a collegiate athlete while at Millersville.”

- Christine Bescript | Business Administration-Finance and Economics Major, ‘22

“I am so proud of who I’ve become while at Millersville and I can say that I am not the same person who arrived four years ago. I have gained so much knowledge and experience which has allowed me to discover the person that I want to be. After earning two bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration-Accounting and Economics, I am prepared to begin my career with RKL LLP in their tax services group. I also plan to take the CPA exam very soon and would like someday to start a real estate investment company that focuses on providing housing for those in need.”

- Kyle Preston | Business Administration-Accounting and Economics Major, ‘22

“The moment that made me most proud while at Millersville, was getting hired halfway through my junior year for an accounting position at ROCK Commercial Real Estate in York, PA. Future plans include continuing my education by working towards my CMA certification. While I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Accounting, I can tell you that I did not start out as an accounting major. It was the professors I had the opportunity to learn from that made my experience enjoyable!”

- Kirsten Deaver | Business Administration-Accounting Major, ‘22

“Even though I just graduated from Millersville University cum laude with a bachelor’s in Business Administration and a concentration in accounting, I feel I am prepared to meet my goal of becoming a licensed CPA. I am proud of the work I put into my academic experience as well as on the baseball field as a student-athlete.”

- Tyler Wright | Business Administration-Accounting Major, ‘22

“I am proud to be graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in Finance and a minor in Spanish Language Studies from Millersville University. Future plans include a full-time position as a Client Service Associate at Steel Valley Wealth Strategies of Raymond James in Allentown, PA where I will also continue my education by studying for several investment licenses. Another proud moment for me was becoming the Vice President of the Marauder Fund Student Investment Association. I had to push myself to take on a leadership role and even though it was intimidating at first, it was a wise choice as I have gained so much knowledge, made close friendships and lasting memories as well.”

- Mikayla Kelhart | Finance Major, Spanish Language Studies Minor, ‘22

“One of the best decisions I made during my college career was switching my major to business. I was much more motivated and while it was hard work, I was able to raise my GPA higher than I thought I ever could. Now that I’ve earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Management, I plan to relocate to the DC area to work in sales and am also considering pursuing a master’s degree in Business Management or Emergency Management.”

- Mason Wooten | Business Administration-Management Major, ‘22

“I never imagined that someone like myself, with hardly any connections, would be able to start an online business! After earning my bachelor’s degree in Accounting, I obtained a full-time position as a staff accountant which allowed me to pursue my dream of owning and operating an ethnic online shop. After one year, the online business is thriving, and I am working on expanding it already!”

- Barsha Thapa | Accounting Major, “21

“As a first-generation college student, I am fortunate to have earned my bachelor’s in Information Technology, at Millersville. I am also proud of my involvement with NAACP, the Honors College and the Millersville University’s Orientation team. I look forward to attending graduate school while working in the field of Cybersecurity.”

- Cedrick Kazadi | Information Technology Major, ‘22
