College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Welcome from Dean Umble
Welcome to the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, home to a diverse array of majors and programs that explore the ways in which citizens past and present make sense of the world around them, and how they communicate their knowledge to others through art, stories, songs, values, languages, histories, and social, cultural, economic and political organizations. The disciplines in our college explore the complexities of our global community and equip students to fulfill their visions for the future.
The College consists of twelve academic departments, five interdisciplinary programs, and several multidisciplinary programs. We encourage creativity, innovation, undergraduate research, experiential learning and civic and community engagement across our programs. We also offer the majority of courses in the University’s general education curriculum and enroll over a third of all Millersville University students in our programs. The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is at the heart of the liberal arts at Millersville. Join us in creative, innovative and engaging learning in the classroom, in performance, and through activities in the broader community.
