Bio
Phyllis is a retired Art teacher from the Swift Middle School in the Solanco School District of Lancaster Co. Phyllis was born and raised in the Lancaster area and earned her Fine Arts and Art Education degrees from Millersville. More recently she has served a term on the Millersville Borough Council, serving 2 years as Vice President of Council. She has owned and operated her own folk art and jewelry business for many years. Her designs have been published in several magazines and books. In 2014, Phyllis won a National Jewelry design award for one of her pieces. She continues to study with other master craftsmen.
As a resident of Millersville and an alumna of Millersville, I feel a need and desire to contribute to the common good and strengthen relationships between MU and the community. I have supported the University through my attendance at MU functions, contributing to financial requests and by establishing a scholarship. In 2017 I took a class in Fine Art Metals with MU students. What a wonderful way to connect with MU and the students. I also enjoy serving at The Hub and meeting new students at the annual Candle Lighting Ceremony at the MU pond.
