Riley Morton '22

Coordinator of Admissions and Recruitment at Montgomery County Community College

“Millersville's Admissions office provided me a space to build relationships and a sense of belonging. I worked as a tour guide for three years, an Orientation Leader for one summer, and an Admissions Intern for three semesters. The students and Millersville Employees I worked with introduced me to the world of Admissions. This sparked a flame of purpose, and I set myself a goal to become an Admissions Counselor. After graduating from Millersville, I worked in the Admissions Office for 6 months at a Temporary Transfer Admissions Counselor. My coworkers and friends have shaped into a confident, young professional. I am continuing my love for admissions at Montgomery County Community College. I would have never thought all of this was possible if it wasn't for the admissions team pushing me to be my best.”

What is your favorite spot-on campus?
I love the Rec Center's Dance studio because for three years of my college experience I danced with Expressions Dance. The dance studio was a place for fun, destressing, friendship, and an opportunity to dance again.

What is your favorite Millersville University tradition and/or event?
My favorite tradition Millersville does is the Candle Lighting Ceremony. The night when you officially become a Millersville "Frosh" Freshman. The moment was memorable and impacted my understanding of Millersville is the place to be. I was thankful that senior year I was an orientation leader and was able to complete the ceremony again to commemorate my completion of my time at Millersville.

Why are you interested in staying connected and involved with MU as a recent graduate?
Because no matter the ups and downs I had as a student at Millersville or after graduating, MU is still my home. It is a piece of me I don't regret, and I will forever remember the memories I've made. I want others to feel the same about our school the day the step on campus as a frosh to the moment they leave in cap and gown. Millersville is here for us, and we will forever remember the impact on our lives.
