Dr. Greg Koons '98

• Executive Director of the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 (CLIU), serving school districts and communities across Carbon and Lehigh Counties in Pennsylvania

• Over 25 years of experience in education, including leadership roles at the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit, Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18, and Tamaqua Area School District

• Will serve as President of the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU) for the 2025–2026 school year

• Earned a Doctor of Education in K–12 Educational Leadership from Wilkes University, a Master’s in Special Education from Bloomsburg University, and a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education from Millersville University

• Known for visionary and collaborative leadership, fostering inclusive practices, community partnerships, and innovative technology-based learning initiatives

• Co-Host of the education leadership podcast “Lead On with Greg & Mark (LOwGaM),” featuring discussions with statewide leaders on effective leadership and learning

• Mentor and advocate for aspiring superintendents and education professionals across Pennsylvania

• Recognized statewide for his commitment to educational equity, student success, and professional collaboration among school leaders

• Band Manager of “The Procedural Safeguards,” a group of Intermediate Unit leaders who promote creativity, camaraderie, and wellness through music
