Crepuscular Rays Audio Guide

Work 5: Crepuscular Rays, 2016

Digitally woven cotton, polyester, thread | 48 x 30 x 22 in.

Process: I used three tapestries with various images to make three snake-like pillows that had both bulbous heads and loops so they could all be intertwined. A new sculpture was made each time the pieces were taken apart and put back together.

Concept: I started to make pieces that rested on the floor and could be moved easily around various types of spaces. This sculpture challenged the idea of being finished or fixed, referencing the shifting nature of identity and meaning.
