Joseph Garner '90

Joseph Garner returned to the board in 2025. He previously served as the president and currently is the chair of the Investment Committee.

Garner graduated from Millersville University in 1990, majoring in economics. While at Millersville, he was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon and a recipient of the Neimeyer Hodgson Grant. After his time at Millersville, he attended the University of Pittsburgh for his master’s degree in business administration. 

Garner is the director of research and portfolio manager at Emerald Asset Management, Inc. He also serves on the advisory council for the Millersville University Lombardo College of Business and as a commencement speaker. Garner was instrumental in establishing the student-run investment group at Millersville, the Marauder Fund. Joe and his wife, Elizabeth ’90, live in Lancaster and have two sons and a daughter. Joe and Elizabeth are also members of the 1855 Society. Elizabeth serves on the advisory board for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
