Nancy Adams '83
Spending Committee Chair
Nancy Adams joined the board in 2024. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Millersville in 1973, after which she went on to work for the U.S. Department of Labor. While at Millersville, she played women’s lacrosse and was a member of the German Club.
After working as the first woman for the US Department of Labor for a time, she received a master’s degree in occupational safety and environmental health. She retired from her position in 2008 now serves as a consultant for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
Nancy and her husband, Gary, created the N.C. Adams ’73 and W.G. Adams Fellows Program for students majoring and minoring in business and/or occupational safety and environmental health. In doing so, they helped to forge a partnership between the OSEH program and the Lombardo College of Business to create a one-of-a-kind education program in Pennsylvania. Nancy has also brought speakers to campus to present to students in the occupational safety and environmental health program. Along with her fellows porgram, Nancy supports many other scholarships for the occupational safety program.
