Students can even do internships abroad, or student teach. Millersville also offers students opportunities to travel with Millersville faculty abroad over the summer.  For example, in 2015, students and faculty will be studying at Oxford and exploring the theatre district in London.

Queens University, Belfast, Northern Ireland

Queen's University Belfast is one of the UK's top 20 research-intensive universities.  It has 6 subjects ranked in the World's Top 100.  As the alma mater of poet Seamus Heaney, the university houses the Seamus Heaney Poetry Centre.  It's a great place for English students to study.  Poet Paul Muldoon, Actor Liam Neeson, and actor/director Simon Callow also attended Queens.

For English students who don't have command of a foreign language, Queens presents a top-notch European University with an extraordinary selection of classes, located in a vibrant city close to many places to explore. 

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland

The University of Strathclyde characterizes itself as a friendly, forward-thinking, practical international university, and we agree.  This university is in Scotland's largest city, which also hosts a number of cultural events and is home to live music.  Strathclyde's faculty of the humanities teaches courses in English, Journalism & Creative Writing, and Education, with strong graduate programs in creative writing; journalism; international journalism; investigative journalism; literary journalism; literature, culture and place; and Northern Renaissance Studies.  Conveniently, Glasgow has direct flights from North America.
