Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)

Millersville launched its 2027-2028 Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study process in fall 2025. 

Why is it important to be accredited by MSCHE?

Student Access and Completion
Millersville University students may access federal financial aid because MSCHE accreditation satisfies the United States Department of Education’s requirements. Credit transfer between other institutions and Millersville University is enhanced. Accreditation supports enrollment.

Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is extended to all Millersville University stakeholders including students, families, alumni, taxpayers, and others.

Institutional Improvement
The self-study process highlights strengths and brings about improvements that institutions may not have prioritized. Employees report that it provides a great opportunity to collaborate with others across the University.
