Middle States Self-Study Overview

Message From The President

October 7, 2025

To the Millersville University Community,

I am delighted to share that Millersville University is officially launching its Middle States Commission on Higher Education self-study process, guided by the proposed timeline below. This effort represents an important opportunity for us to reflect collectively on who we are as a university – our mission, our achievements and our aspirations for the future.

The self-study process plays a central role in reaffirming our accreditation and strengthening our commitment to academic excellence, integrity and continuous improvement. It provides a valuable occasion for us to showcase our successes, examine our practices and identify meaningful ways to enhance the Millersville experience for our students, faculty and staff.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Carol Runge, Dr. Rachel Finley-Bowman and Dr. Kim McCollum-Clark will serve as co-leads for this important work. Each brings deep knowledge, thoughtful leadership and a genuine passion for advancing the mission of our university. I am grateful for their willingness to guide us through this process and confident that their leadership will help us engage the campus community in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose.

Teams focusing on each of the MSCHE standards are currently being formed. I warmly invite anyone interested in contributing their time, expertise or perspective to reach out to Dr. Runge. Your
participation – whether through committee work, feedback sessions or campus dialogues will be instrumental in shaping our self-study and ensuring that it reflects the collective voice of Millersville University.

Engaging in the MSCHE self-study is more than a procedural requirement; it is a university-wide conversation about our identity, our values and our vision for the future. Together, we will demonstrate to our peers and to ourselves the strength of our community and our enduring dedication to quality, accountability and student success.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Millersville University. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we embark on this exciting and meaningful journey.

Warm regards,

Daniel A. Wubah, Ph.D.
University President
