Athletic Coaching Minor
Learn the ins-and-outs of coaching, behavior, teaching, physical training and management with Millersville University's Athletic Coaching minor.
Why Study This Program?
A minor in Athletic Coaching equips students with the principles of coaching, behavior, teaching, physical training and management, which are the essentials to becoming a successful coach. The goal of this program is to train students to be effective teachers and trainers while simultaneously enhancing communication and motivational skills and improving team dynamics and risk management skills.
Many of our graduates have gone on to coach as high as the collegiate level and taken athletic administrative jobs. Some of Millersville University’s current coaching staff have come through our program, such as baseball head coach Jon Shehan and lacrosse head coach Mia Hall.
The Athletic Coaching minor is housed within the Wellness and Sport Sciences Department.
