B.S. Music Industry - Live Audio Concentration

B.S. Music Industry - Live Music Concentration

The Live Audio Concentration prepares students for challenging careers in the music industry with a focus on Live Audio Engineering, Production, and Recording.

Why Study this Program?

The Music Business Technology program at Millersville University prepares students for careers in the music industry. Students take courses in computer applications for music production, audio recording, artist management, international music business, music marketing, audio for video, and live audio, and have the opportunity to perform in popular music and/or traditional music groups and ensembles.

All students will take courses in music performance, music business, and audio production and will specialize in one or more of three exciting concentrations: Music Management; Music Production; and Live Audio.

Through a partnership with Clair Global (a global leader in live music production and design), students at Millersville have the opportunity to study live audio at Clair Global’s headquarters with industry professionals.

Students also have the opportunity to promote a concert for major national artists on campus; promote a showcase at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas; perform with national recording artists; produce music in one of Millersville’s three state-of-the-art recording studios, and learn about the music industry during one of many trips or study abroad opportunities.

What Will You Learn?

Students will learn about every aspect of the music industry. Beyond the core curriculum required for all Music Industry majors, students in the Live Audio Concentration will take advanced courses in live audio production, music recording technology, and industrial technology.
