"The Certified Athletic Trainer is a highly educated and skilled professional specializing in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health personnel, the ATC functions as an integral member of the athletic healthcare team in secondary schools, colleges and universities, sports medicine clinics, professional sports programs, industrial settings and other healthcare environments."

Millersville University is a NCAA Division II school which competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) We are located in beautiful Lancaster County right outside the city of Lancaster.

A staff of physicians, certified athletic trainers, graduate assistants, and a number of athletic training students provide medical coverage for over 400 athletes participating in 19 intercollegiate sports at Millersville University.

The athletic training staff primarily focuses on the prevention, assessment, management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. The staff also helps prepare the athlete for practices and competitions. The list of services also includes practice and game coverage, physician referral, neuropsychological testing and athletic physicals.

Millersville has two fully functional athletic training clinics. These include some of the most up to date equipment. The athletic training room is open for business in the mornings and afternoons for practice coverage. The morning hours allow athletes time with the staff for initial evaluation or to make adjustments to their treatment protocol.
