Clubs
English-related Clubs
English students participate in all sorts of clubs across campus. Our department in particularly involved in the ASL Club, the Creative Writers Guild, the English Club, the Film Club, and the George Street Press (the creative writing and arts journal).
Creative Writers Guild
Creative Writers’ Guild is a place for MU students to mingle and share ideas, discuss their passions, and simply enjoy one another’s company. The members have essentially become a family, and there is always room for more family members to join! Each meeting, we have a prompt to write about, but feel free to create anything you'd like! We've done everything from fanfiction to poetry to improv storytelling, and love trying new writing prompts! We meet on Tuesday nights at 8:30pm in Chryst 210. To learn more, contact our president, Jacob Coopersmith at jacoope1@millersville.edu.
English Club
The English Club provides a venue for Millersville Students interested in English and the arts to meet, talk, and plan activities. Contact Dr. Caleb Corkery to join.
Film Club
The Film Club works with Dr. Jill Craven and the Cinephile Living/Learning Community to appreciate the cinematic arts. Member meet on Monday nights in the SMC to view and discuss films. For the schedule and contact info, see More on the Film Club.
George Street Press
George Street Press is our literary and visual arts magazine created and edited by students. If you love creative writing and editing, this club is a real opportunity for you to engage in a professional editing project that you can put on your resumé.
Other Opportunities
Other MU Clubs and organizations provide a space for students to mingle, to develop their creative potential, and to become involved.
