A degree in International Studies from Millersville University will provide students with an understanding of the complex and evolving issues that underlie and impact world affairs. Examining the social, cultural, economic, environmental, historical and political systems worldwide, this program offers comparative studies in music, literature, religion and education.

What Will You Learn?

As an interdisciplinary program, the International Studies program provides students with a broad range of academic choices. In addition to Millersville University general education requirements, International Studies majors complete a total of 57 credits fulfilled by several required core courses. Students are also required to learn a language of their choosing.

Students in this major are also encouraged to study abroad. This is an important and valuable part of a student's undergraduate education as study abroad can widen your intellectual horizons and deepen your knowledge and understanding of cultural, political and economic issues. Over half of Millersville International Studies majors and minors study abroad for a summer, winter, semester or entire academic year. Students may study, work, teach or intern abroad anytime after the completion of 24 credits.
