COMING IN 2025
Join us in 2025 for Millersville’s Glorious Gingerbread Contest, a holiday showcase where creativity meets festive cheer! Whether you're a fan of classic gingerbread houses or enjoy adding a unique twist, this contest invites you to show off your best holiday creations. Compete in one of several categories for a chance to win fun prizes!
Categories
- Classic Gingerbread House – Traditional, cozy designs that capture the holiday spirit
- Youth Category (12 & Under) – A special category to engage young decorators
- Millersville Pride – Gingerbread houses that showcase Millersville themes, colors, or landmarks
- Educator's Edition - For teachers, classroom, and school entries
Prizes
1. First Place in Each Category – $50 gift card, Millersville prize, and a certificate
2. Runner-Up in Each Category– $25 gift card and a Millersville prize
3. People’s Choice Winner – $75 gift card, selected by attendee votes in-person
Registration Fee
- $5 per entry for students, faculty, alumni, or children of alumni
- $10 per entry for all other friends
Judging Criteria (Out of 100 Points)
Each house will be scored on these criteria, with a maximum possible score of 100 points:

Creativity and Originality (25 Points) How unique and inventive is the design? Does it show a fresh perspective or creative use of materials?

Overall Aesthetic and Visual Appeal (20 Points) How visually pleasing is the final product?

Detail and Precision (20 Points) Are the details (small features like windows, doors, or tiny decorations) carefully crafted?

Theme and Storytelling (15 Points) Does the house capture the theme of the contest or tell a story?

Use of Materials (10 Points) How effectively are materials used in the design?

Holiday Spirit (10 Points) Does the house capture a festive and joyful holiday vibe?
Additional Considerations:
Participants must deliver their gingerbread houses to campus between 4pm-7pm on Friday, December 5th, 2025 or make other arrangements.
