Overview

Millersville University alumni have always been at the heart of the Marauder experience.  Whether welcoming new students, supporting alumni events, mentoring future professionals, or helping preserve our traditions, volunteers play an important role in strengthening the connection between alumni and the University.

The Office of Alumni Engagement offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, ranging from one-time event support to ongoing leadership and service opportunities.  No matter where you live or hwo much time you can give, there is a place for you to get involved.

Together, we can help future generations of Marauders feel connected, supported, and proud to call Millersville home.

Why volunteer?

Annual Event Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year, alumni volunteers assist with a variety of programs and events, including:

Annual Candle Lighting Ceremony (August)

Welcome incoming students as they begin their Millersville journey by helping distribute candles, share the Alma Mater, and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Homecoming (October)

Support alumni hospitality, registration, and special activities as Marauders return to campus to connect and celebrate.

Family Egg Hunt (April)

Assist with event setup, registration, activity stations, egg preparation, and creating a memorable experience for alumni families.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities are open to:

  • Millersville alumni
  • Current students
  • Faculty
  • Staff

Many volunteer roles require no previous experience and are designed to be flexible and welcoming.

Looking for additional ways to help?

In addition to event volunteering, alumni may also be intersted in:

  • Serving on an Alumni Association committee
  • Mentoring students or young alumni
  • Sharing career advice and professional expertise
  • Particpating in alumni panels and networking programs
  • Assisting with class reunions
  • Serving as an advocate for Millersville University in their community
