Abstract: Online survey research has promoted dream analysis as a beneficial therapeutic tool during the COVID pandemic. These studies acquired samples that favored those with dreams to report and surveyed them with leading questions. This study administered two differently worded surveys to college students unaware of the study’s focus. Results showed that only just about half had brief, non-pandemic-related dreams to report that were susceptible to priming. Problems in online dream research are discussed, and this study’s implications for counselors are considered closely.
