Student Learning Outcomes

Students Will:

  • Application of Content Knowledge: Economics majors demonstrate the ability to apply the content knowledge from the Principles courses.  The concepts are opportunity cost, supply and demand, the Keynesian model of aggregate expenditures, and Federal Reserve policy
  • Proficiency in Statistical Methods: Economics majors demonstrate the ability to use statistical methods to organize, describe, and analyze data
  • Information Literacy: Economics majors demonstrate information literacy
  • Written Communication Skills: Economics majors demonstrate proficiency in written communication skills that include organization, a summary of current related research literature, cogent explanation of research methodology, and proper analysis of research conclusions.  Effective written communication in Economics focuses on scientific and technical writing
  • Intellectual Skills: Economics majors demonstrate critical thinking skills
