Credit for Prior Learning
Credit for Prior Learning
With the agreement of department faculty, program coordinators may submit a request to have certain industry-recognized trainings or credentials count as equivalent for specified credit-bearing courses.
This process is in place to align course equivalencies with standard, industry-recognized trainings, certificates, credentials, or similar, which may be available across certain professional disciplines.
Faculty requesting CPL may contact the office of graduate studies and adult learning for assistance and support.
Once a CPL equivalency is set up, eligible active students who present valid evidence of having completed that specific training or credential can apply to have the approved associated credit added to their transcript by the transfer coordinator in the registrar's office.

Challenge Exams
Grant of course credit by challenge exam (CPL by exam) provides a pathway for learners to demonstrate that they have achieved skills, knowledge, and other proficiencies outside the classroom that align with the intended student learning outcomes of one or more specific Millersville University courses.
The decision to allow the opportunity for a student to attempt to earn CPL by exam is entirely at the discretion of the academic department responsible for the course(s) in question.
The first step for students wishing to pursue CPL by exam is to contact the respective Department Chair to discuss the possibility.
