Abstract: Disability work and disability care work are often considered the dominion of disciplines like psychology, social work, and education. However, recent innovations in creative nonfiction (as marshalled by authors such as Esme Wang and Eli Clare and narrative anthologies such as Disability Visibility curated by Alice Wong) offer models of disability-studies-informed creative writing that balances experiential data with academic research.
