Student New Hire Process (Students)
Step 1 - Complete the background clearances and provide Human Resources with the necessary documentation to begin employment. The Human Resources website will have further instructions on how to complete background clearance.
Step 2 - Human Resources Background Clearance Checklist - After supplying Human Resources with background clearance documents they will issue you the checklist. Payroll will need this form when handing in new hire documents.
Step 3 - Request to hire form - The department that hired you will give you a request to hire form. The Payroll Office will need this when you hand in new hire documents.
Step 4 - New hire documents - Complete electronically, print, and return them to the Payroll Office.
FAILURE TO RETURN YOUR COMPLETED DOCUMENTS WILL DELAY THE PROCESS OF BEING HIRED TO WORK ON CAMPUS.
Bring to the Payroll Office (Dilworth 106):
IMPORTANT! If saving the forms, you will need to save by printing to “Adobe PDF” (Select File, print, and use the drop down box to select Adobe PDF in the printer selection) and then selecting where you want to save the files.
Request to hire form (the department that hired you should supply you with this form)
Background clearance check off form (from Human Resources)
Unexpired photo ID and original social security card. You may use a photo copy of the social security card ONLY if you have another original form of ID from LIST A or C from the I-9 form (Listing of Acceptable I-9 documents) Ex. Birth Certificate or Passport
