Joshua Schairer is a bassoonist from Fort Collins, Colorado living in Philadelphia, PA. Comfortable in settings ranging from chamber music to opera, Joshua has performed with the Bay Atlantic Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, Pennsylvania Philharmonic, and Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey orchestras, amongst several others. As a chamber musician, he co-founded the award-winning Bear Lake Wind Quintet (Southard, 2016 & American Prize, 2017). Joshua was a featured soloist twice at Temple University and presents recitals regularly throughout the United States.

Currently, Joshua is on faculty at the Tell School of Music at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Master of Music (‘17) and Bachelor of Music (‘15) from the University of Northern Colorado, where he studied with Tristan Rennie and Dr. Charles Hansen. He is a doctoral candidate at Temple University, studying with William Short.
