About the Exhibition ...
Nature of Stories is an exhibition by Kaylee Bailor that explores themes of stories, the ways they are told, and the impacts that they have on us. Her work incorporates animals as subject matter and instruments of symbolism as a reference to the storytelling and expectations set during antiquity. Due to her own frequent and vivid dreams, Bailor also explores the unconscious mind and how the influences from our waking lives lead to the creation of imagery and stories as we sleep. With this show, she hopes to provoke thoughtful and unique interpretations of her imagery that can inspire further stories, dreams, and visuals for her viewers.
About the Artist ...
Kaylee Bailor is an artist who currently resides in Mechanicsburg, PA. She received her AFA from Harrisburg Area Community College before transferring to Millersville University. She is currently working towards her BFA degree with a concentration in painting and is expected to graduate Fall of 2026. She primarily works in acrylic and oil paints, but enjoys using a variety of 2-Dimensional mediums. Bailor is fascinated with the methodologies and impacts of storytelling, and likes to explore this through her own writings and pieces of visual art. She has shown work in exhibitions during her time at Millersville and HACC, including the 2023 and 2024 HACC Student Honors Shows, HACC’s 2024 Invitational Student Art Exhibition, as well as Millersville’s 18th Annual Juried Student Exhibition. She is also expected to be joining the group exhibition, In the Midst, in Millersville University’s Swift Gallery in November of 2026.
