About the Exhibition ...

Path of Inspiration is a collection of work intended to pay homage to the way of the artist, highlighting the artistic path: how she works, her tools, the struggles, and in the end, show the reward of perseverance. Serving as an archival process, the exhibition preserves moments of memory, material, and gesture as an archive of instinct and emotion. In the face of mental health struggles, Snellbaker strives to become one with her work by exploring expression and emotions through mark making and as a means of personal grounding. Her dynamic lines reflect a personal ethos rooted in the core belief of finding balance, learning when to yield, to let emotions flow or when to remain steadfast when the wind blows hard. The exhibition features multiple different media, such as screenprints, ink paintings, cast bronze, and various methods of fired ceramics. Snellbaker created this body of work to mark the completion of her six-year academic voyage and to celebrate a pivotal transition within her ongoing artistic evolution.

About the Artist ...

Lainey Snellbaker, from Dover, Pennsylvania, is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics at Millersville University, where she is expected to graduate in Fall of 2026. She works primarily in porcelain, creating wheel-thrown forms inspired by Asian ceramics. Her work explores line and movement through expressive brushstrokes that capture moments in an intimate, archival process. Most recently, her work was featured in the group exhibition Selections (2025) and Dès vu (2025) at Millersville University’s Swift Gallery. She has also shown in the 13th, 15th, and 16th Annual Juried Student Exhibitions at Millersville.
