About the Exhibition ...
POINT OF VIEW is the culmination of works by Oliver Bednar exploring
camaraderie, identity, and growth since coming out as transgender and queer in 2019.
Bednar uses his perspective to emphasize the realities of being queer. POINT OF VIEW
showcases his undergraduate studies in printmaking and follows a narrative of his own
college experiences, featuring friends, family, mentors, conversations, and places
imbued with a little bit of himself.

About the Artist ...
Oliver Bednar, from Allentown, PA, is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Fine
Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Education for Art Education at Millersville University.
With a concentration in printmaking, Oliver is an interdisciplinary artist who works in
other media, including oil pastels, collage, and metals. His love of printmaking led him to
work as a studio technician at the university’s printmaking studio for two years, assisting
other students as a mentor and maintaining studio cleanliness. Oliver’s work has been
featured in Millersville’s 2025 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit, where he won the
Printmaking Award, and at the Art Association of Harrisburg’s 98th Annual Juried Show.
He is currently student teaching and plans to teach any grade level in Philadelphia, PA,
after graduation, while continuing his studio practice.
