About the Exhibition ...

Not Quite Laugh Out Loud asks what happens when ‘silly’ ideas are taken very seriously, or
when serious experiences are approached with a sense of humor. Through a wide variety of
media, from digital collage to wood to bronze, the show explores how material language, careful
consideration of display, and an emphasis on craftsmanship and the artist’s hand influence our
perception of objects and experiences. Using techniques that span from more traditional
metalwork to digital fabrication methods such as laser cutting and 3d printing, Not Quite Laugh
Out Loud represents an intersection of design-thinking, humor, and fine art.
