About the Exhibition ...

The Emerging Artist in Residents show introduces the seven artists who are spending a creative year at Millersville University. From floating paper sculptures to delicate fine metals, there is a diverse voice present.

About the Artists ...

Justine Ditto, originally from Houston, TX received a Bachelor's degree and a Certificate in Printmaking from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  Since graduating her time has been spent making artwork, teaching printmaking, freelancing as a designer and printer, and collaborating in an artist collective.  In addition to curating and installing exhibits at the Spillway Collective, she creates a variety of multimedia works based in drawing, lithography, and screen printing which often transgress into three-dimensional forms and installation.

Recently she has completed the Screen Printing Apprenticeship at the Fabric Workshop Museum and has begun the Emerging Artist in Residency program in Printmaking at Millersville University.

Arthur Padelsky graduated from Millersville University with a BFA with concentrations in graphic design and printmaking in 2010 after studying abroad in Australia.  Their work focuses primarily on the investigation and breakdown of gender as a social construct, and the anxiety perpetuated by imposed cultural norms, conveyed through multidisciplinary mediums.  Their pieces are included in the private collections of galleries and universities across the US and Canada, and they hope to reach an array of audiences, encouraging the viewers to investigate these topics further within themselves.

Arthur is currently an emerging artist in residence focusing on printmaking at Millersville University for 2018-2019, and hopes to continue into an MFA program afterwards.

Ave Palguta
graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of the Arts with a concentration in Fine Metals and Graphic Design in 2018. Aside from being on the Dean’s List, she also received a scholarship from SNAG (Society of North American Goldsmiths) to attend the Keystone event at Touchstone center for fine arts.  During her senior year, she also received a grant for independent student research on furthering her skills in bezel settings.  One of her fine metal pieces was showcased at the Regional Juried Exhibition at Penn Gallery the summer after completing her undergrad.

Ave now is an Emerging Artist in Residency at Millersville University focusing on her fine metal and printmaking works.  She plans on receiving her Masters with hopes of becoming a professor.

Eve Palguta is an artist from Pittsburgh area who recently began her position as an Emerging Artist in Resident at Millersville University.  She graduated in 2015 from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH with her BA in Humanities and Catholic Culture where she enjoyed spending a semester studying philosophy in Gaming, Austria and another semester studying studio arts at SACI (Studio Arts College International) in Florence, Italy.  In 2017 Eve received her MA in painting with a concentration in sculpture from the New York Academy of Art, NY.  She has spent her time after graduation learning stone carving in New York working for the renowned sculptors Barbara Segal and Barry X Ball.  She has shown her work throughout Pennsylvania and the New York City area.
