Each governing council has a different structure for bringing new members into organizations. Students who have achieved 12 college credit hours and a 2.5 GPA or above are eligible to participate in recruitment/intake process. Please be advised that some organizations have minimum credit hour and GPA requirements that are higher. Once an individual is selected/invited to join, all groups have an education/orientation period for new members to familiarize themselves with the organization and members prior to initiation.
Recruitment and Membership Intake
Students who are interested in joining one of Millersville's Interfraternity Council (IFC) or Panhellenic Council (NPC) organizations or Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia will participate in a process called recruitment. IFC, NPC, along with individual chapters will host a series of events that provide potential new members an opportunity to learn about each of the chapters.
In the spring term, all prospective members for NPC sororities must register for Panhellenic Formal Recruitment -- a 3 or 4 day recruitment week that has formal round-robin sessions for perspective members to learn more about the organizations culminating in a mutual-selection process. This Spring 2021 all recruitment events for Panhellenic Primary Recruitment will be held virtually. Registration is now live for Sorority Primary Recruitment 2021! Students who are interested in joining one of Millersville's culturally-based fraternities or sororities will participate in a process called Membership Intake. Contact the Department of Campus Life or the organizations primary contact on Get Involved for additional information.
All Prospective New Members for all councils must complete documentation to verify their eligibility to join a fraternity or sorority prior to being extended an invitation of membership. For more information stop by the Campus Life Office or visit the FSL Get Involved Page!
