As disasters become more frequent, complex, and costly, the need for skilled emergency management professionals continues to grow. Our Emergency Management degree, offered both in-person and fully online, prepares you to lead before, during, and after emergencies by combining scientific knowledge, practical skills, and real-world problem-solving. Students gain hands-on experience through tabletop exercises, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, and other activities that build the skills and confidence needed to respond effectively to real-world situations. All students are also required to complete an internship or conduct research in teh field, providing valuable professional experience and opportunities to apply classroom learning to current emergency management challenges.

On April 8, 2025, Chris Steppat, a student in Millersville University's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management/Master of Science in Emergency Management program, received the New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association Memorial Scholarship award at the NJEPA Conference Awards Dinner during the 26th Annual NJEPA Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
