The Environmental Earth and Ocean Sciences (EEOS) B.S. program provides a comprehensive exploration of the interconnected geological, oceanic, and environmental systems that shape our planet. Grounded in the physical sciences, the program develops the scientific and technical skills needed to address contemporary environmental challenges.

Students gain experience through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory investigation, field studies, and research opportunities. The curriculum emphasizes the fundamental geosciences, investigative methods, data analysis, and field techniques that prepare graduates to understand and solve real-world problems related to natural resources, environmental change, coastal systems, and sustainability.

The program offers three concentrations—Environmental Geology, Environmental Ocean Sciences, and Environmental Earth Sciences—allowing students to pursue specialized areas of interest while building a strong foundation across the geosciences. This flexible curriculum enables students to tailor their studies to align with a wide range of professional and academic goals.

Graduates are well prepared for careers in environmental consulting, natural resource management, coastal and marine sciences, government agencies, research organizations, and related fields. The program also provides an excellent foundation for students pursuing graduate study in the geosciences and related disciplines such as environmental policy and sustainability studies.

Millersville University's EEOS degree engages students in hands-on field and laboratory-intensive activities that train them to solve today’s complex environmental problems.

EEOS students will gain technical expertise in investigative methods and practical experience in communicating environmental science to both novice and professional audiences. Graduates of the environmental geology concentration meet the necessary curricular requirements to be eligible for professional licensure, and graduates of the BS EEOS program will be able to immediately step into a variety of careers including:
