39th Annual Brossman Foundation and Ronald E. Frisbie Sr. Science Lectureship
Welcome
Millersville University and the Mr. and Mrs. William F. Brossman Charitable Foundation present the 39th Annual Brossman Foundation and Ronald E. Frisbie Sr. Science Lectureship Program. The program includes a competitive examination for high school sophomore, junior, and senior science, mathematics and technology students; laboratory demonstrations; a special afternoon lecture for selected elementary and middle school student; and an evening presentation by Dr. Arthur Benjamin.
The University wishes to acknowledge the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Brossman, the late Mrs. Emily B. Sprecher, Class of 1926, and the late Mrs. Anne B. Sweigart, for their support of this program. We also wish to acknowledge the late Mrs. Bertha Brossman Blair, Class of 1912, the founder of the Brossman Foundation, and the trustee board of the Foundation under the guidance of Ephrata National Bank.
In addition, we wish to acknowledge the late Mr. Ronald E. Frisbie Sr. for his steadfast support of the Science Lectureship. Mr. Frisbie, a longtime executive at the Denver and Ephrata Telephone Company, was awarded the Millersville University President's Medallion in 2012. He was a member of the Lectureship Program Committee from its inception in 1985 until his passing and served for many years on the Advancement Advisory Board for the College of Science and Technology.

Science Exam Competition
As part of the Lectureship activities, students from area high schools are invited to participate in a science exam competition.
This is an advanced, challenging exam with questions ranging up to the introductory college-level, written and submitted by faculty in the disciplines of biology, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, environmental science and sustainability, mathematics, nursing, physics, technology, and the health professions, as well as topics in current science news.
Students in grades 10 through 12 work together in teams of two and awards are given to the teams who finish first, second, and third in the competition.
