Dr. Jones has 25 years of experience working in community mental health, higher education, and K-12 schools. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services (CACREP) from the University of Georgia and has clinical experience with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and families. 

Before moving to central Pennsylvania Sarah was an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Higher Education Administration at the University of West Georgia. At UWG, she taught undergraduate and graduate students while also researching the transitional experiences of youth in foster care. She is a qualitative researcher, focusing on the phenomenological and lived experiences of traditionally underserved individuals and groups. Prior to earning a PhD, She taught elementary and middle school students for ten years in North Carolina public schools. 

Currently, Dr. Jones works as a licensed professional counselor at Samaritan Counseling Center in Lancaster and teaches General Psychology (PSYC 100) at Millersville University.  She has taught multiple classes at other institutions,  including Group Processing, Counseling Theories, Counseling across the Lifespan, and Social Impacts on Development.
