Prof. Nanda Mitra-Itle
Adjunct Professor

Nanda Mitra-Itle, NCSP is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Adjunct Professor at Millersville University, and MTSS Academic Consultant on the Training and Consultation (TaC) Team at IU13. With over 17 years of experience in school psychology, Professor Mitra-Itle provides training, consultation, and direct support to school districts in the areas of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), English Learners (ELs), special education, and gifted education.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Elizabethtown College, followed by a Master of Science degree and School Psychology Certification from Millersville University. She completed doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership with ABD status in School Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a certified trainer in the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) model and the PREPaRE school crisis prevention and intervention framework.
She has presented locally and nationally on topics such as gifted identification, trauma-informed practices, culturally and linguistically responsive assessment, and equitable MTSS. Her work has been featured in numerous professional settings including the National Association of Schoo Psychologists (NASP), Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education (PAGE), the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Professor Mitra-Itle is a former President of PAGE, current Vice President of the PSEA Department of Pupil Services (DPS) Board, and serves as a representative on the Multicultural Affairs Committee. She is also an active member of the NASP White Papers Committee. Her work and insights have been cited in Best Practices in School Psychology in chapters focused on gifted learners. Her professional interests include equitable gifted identification, MTSS implementation, culturally responsive practices, English Learners, trauma-informed education, and supporting twice-exceptional students.
