Internships/Research/Projects:

This is my third semester doing research with Dr. Kathryn Allen on Covalent Organic Frameworks. I have also completed a REU at James Madison University where I did research with Dr. Kevin Caran on novel triscationic amphiphiles as medical-grade disinfectants. I also have a REU this summer at UMBC where I will be doing research with Dr. Lisa Kelly on switchable three-dimensional metal-polymer structures for controlled release of bioactive molecules.

Highlights (from courses/internship/research):

Being able to do lab work on things that interest you is one of the best things possible.

Takeaway (from courses/internship/research):

You must work hard to get the results you want.

Advice (for incoming freshman in your shoes):

Try your best in your courses and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Aspirations (upon graduation):

I want to continue my education to get my Ph.D. and then go into industry.
