Application Instructions for Financial Awards

Students must have completed a Step 2 Report/Registration of Internship in Handshake Experiences before submitting an application for a Financial Award.

Review the application deadline date and confirm you satisfy the eligibility requirements for the award.

Log into Handshake with your Millersville credentials and select Career Center - Experiences - Request an Experience.

Select Undergraduate - Application for Financial Awards for Interns and choose the correct Term in which the Internship Experience is registered.

Provide the name of the Employer and the internship Job in the required fields.  

A recommendation submitted by a faculty member in your major or minor department is a required component of the application.  Students are highly encouraged to request and secure the faculty recommender prior to submitting the application.  Enter the email address of the faculty member serving as recommender. Submission of the application will initiate an electronic request to the faculty email address designated on the application. 

Provide a phone number, select the specific award for which you are applying, your total credits earned and in progress, and overall GPA.

Please provide thoughtful and well-written answers to the following questions:

  • Describe the internship and how it relates to the employer organization's mission.
  • How does the internship relate to your academic and career goals?
  • How do you hope to contribute to the organization?
  • How would you benefit from an Internship Financial Award?

Submit the application before the established deadline by clicking "Request Experience."
