Professional Experience
Dr. Hunter’s career as a school psychologist began in public school settings, where he worked as a school psychologist for ten years. His experience in these environments has deeply informed his approach to education and the expanded role of the school psychologist. Before his tenure in public schools, he was involved with various community mental health agencies, further broadening his expertise in mental health and educational support.

Dr. Hunter also spent several years at the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network where he supported several key initiatives, including Learning Environment and Engagement, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and School Psychology.

Research Interests
Dr. Hunter’s research interests are diverse and impactful. He focuses on:

  • Single Case Research Design: Exploring individualized approaches to understanding and improving educational outcomes.
  • Data-Based Decision Making: Utilizing data to inform and enhance educational practices and interventions.
  • Evidence-Based Practices within Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS): Implementing and evaluating strategies that support students at various levels of need.
  • Response to Intervention (RTI): Developing and refining methods to identify and support students with specific learning disabilities.

Educational Background
Dr. Hunter’s academic background includes an undergraduate degree in psychology from Albright College, a Master of Science in Psychology and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology from Millersville University, and a Doctor of Education (D.Ed.) degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Personal Interests
Dr. Hunter is a football enthusiast and an avid dog lover. He volunteers for Zoe’s House Rescue where he and his family foster and rehome dogs in need.
