Graduation Checklist

Use this checklist to stay on track for graduation and commencement. Complete the items below as they apply to you.

Before You Graduate

Register for GRAD999 (Undergraduates Only)

Register for GRAD999 - Intent to Be Graduated when registering for your final semester.  Register regardless of whether you plan to participate in commencement.

Apply for Graduation

Submit your graduation application by the published deadline (9/28/2026 for Fall/Winter; 2/19/2027 for Spring/Summer)

Important: Late applications are accepted but may affect communications and inclusion in the commencement program.

Confirm Your Mailing Address

Verify that your mailing address in MAX is correct. Your diploma and graduation-related communications will be sent to the address on file

Submit Your Thesis or Dissertation (Graduate Students Only)

Once you have completed your thesis or dissertation, you will submit documentation to AdultLearning@millersville.edu in accordance with the process checklist.

Pay the Graduation Fee

After your graduation application is approved, a $30 graduation fee will be charged to your Student Account Manager (SAM).

All graduating students are charged a $30 degree fee, regardless of participation in commencement. The fee covers diploma processing, printing, and mailing.

PREPARE FOR COMMENCEMENT

Order Graduation Items:

Consider making a donation to the Senior Class Gift.

AFTER FINAL GRADES ARE POSTED

Review Your Degree Progress and Save Important Records

  • Check your MarAudit
    • Confirm all degree requirements are complete
  • Review your unofficial transcript for accuracy.
  • Print or save a copy of your unofficial transcript for your records before your MU account becomes inactive.
  • Save your Student ID (P#) for future reference.

Receive Your Degree and Diploma

The timeline is as follows:

  • Final grades are processed (the week after the semester ends)
  • Degrees are generally conferred approximately two weeks after the end of the semester.
  • Electronic diplomas are typically distributed through your MU email account following degree conferral.
  • Diplomas are generally mailed approximately 1 month after commencement.
