About Dr. Douglas

Dr. Michael Douglas, Associate Professor of Management, joined Millersville University in 2009. Prior to Millersville, he served on the faculty of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he taught computer programming courses in C#, and Visual Basic.NET.  Dr. Douglas’ industry and consultancy experiences include positions at Boeing (Phantom Works), AT&T, among others.

A former McKnight Fellow and a KPMG Scholar, Dr. Douglas received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida, his MBA from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO, and his B.S. in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Kansas State University.

Dr. Douglas’ recent publications have appeared in International Journal of Decision Support System Technology, Journal of the International Academy for Case Studies, Journal of Research in Business Information Systems, and Business and Management Review.

In his classes, he uses Capstone (Capsim Simulation) software for the freshman and senior seminars, where his students work in teams to run a simulated business. Over the years, his student teams have been ranked in the top 100 worldwide.
