Welcome to the Lombardo College of Business!
This summer, we’re bigger and better than ever! The Lombardo College of Business now proudly houses four dynamic departments, offering programs in Business, Economics, Sport Administration, and Information Technology. These curriculums are designed to prepare our students for success in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Nearly all our business programs include a required academic internship, giving
students valuable real-world skills that complement their classroom learning. These internships are a cornerstone of our commitment to experiential education and career readiness.
Beyond the classroom, students engage in a wide range of co-curricular experiences, including innovative student organizations like the Marauder Fund and Student Business Association. Our students also participate in local, regional, and international trips—most recently to Germany, Switzerland, and Puerto Rico—and attend interactive on-campus events such as Meet the Business Professionals and Real-World Networking Dinners. A hallmark of these opportunities is the valuable interaction our students have with our devoted faculty.
A major focus for us is the integration of Artificial Intelligence into business education. This fall, we’re launching an AI Literacy Module in all First-Year Seminars for business students. We’re also embedding AI concepts throughout our courses and programs. Since Spring 2024, the Lombardo College of Business has hosted the Lancaster AI Symposium, bringing together business and education leaders from across the region to explore workforce development, productivity, and ethical challenges posed by this transformative technology.
Incoming freshmen are encouraged to explore the Business Living-Learning Community (LLC), a dynamic residential and academic program designed for business majors. Participants live together in suite-style housing and are enrolled in a coordinated set of business courses, fostering a strong sense of community and academic collaboration. The program offers valuable mentorship from upperclassmen and alumni, as well as exposure to real-world business environments through professional panels, speaker series, and industry-focused trips—including a visit to New York City. With a focus on career readiness, the LLC supports students in developing essential skills such as résumé writing, interview techniques, and financial literacy, all while actively engaging in business-related clubs, competitions, and networking events—at no additional cost.

Dr. Farhad Afzali as an Assistant Professor of Information Technology for Fall 2025!
Dr. Farhad Afzali received his Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Kardan University, Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems, and Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).
