Jeff Jumper is Pennsylvania native, now living in York, Pennsylvania, with two decades of experience in communications, meteorology, and emergency response and management. He is the Deputy Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and previously served as the first State Meteorologist. He is an IAEM Certified Emergency Manager and has obtained Pennsylvania’s Professional and Associate Practitioner emergency management certifications.
Previously, Jeff worked for a decade as a broadcast meteorologist with television stations in Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Louisiana, earning the NWA Television Seal of Approval and AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation. Jeff graduated from Millersville University in 2016 with a M.S. in Emergency Management and Penn State University in 2006 with a B.S. in Meteorology. Jeff is also a proud graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive, Advanced and Basic academies.
For over 25 years, Jeff served his communities as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He was appointed by Governor Wolf to serve on the inaugural Pennsylvania State Fire Advisory Board from 2022-2024. His proudest accomplishment is being a husband to wife Amanda and a father to his two kids, Hayes, and Reagan. He’s an avid Penn State Football fan and a foodie at heart!
