Horn instructor Ian Eckert Petruzzi is a multifaceted musician originally from Hershey,
Pennsylvania. He has performed on horn and natural horn with ensembles in Pennsylvania,
Ohio, Indiana, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, California, and Italy. In addition to playing
and teaching both modern and historical performance practices on horn, he is also a pianist and
composer. He teaches private lessons in brass, piano, theory, and composition at the Menchey
School of Music. Mr. Petruzzi holds a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a
Master of Music from the Yale School of Music, and a Performer’s Diploma in Solo Performance
from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. His major teachers include Barry Benjamin,
Richard Solis, William Purvis, and Dale Clevenger.
